Progress report
Lately I have been learning how to do sentences. I learned how to do "What's your name?", "How are you?" and "How old are you?", and I will continue to learn various sentences. Now I'm learning how to do numbers, which is very different from what you think it would be. A really helpful person that does YouTube videos on sign language is kateemaria. I think I have improved a lot from when I first started!Friday, January 30, 2015
Progress Report:
To continue my 20% time and learning sign language I have continued to become more fluent. I have been having some difficulties trying to remember the signs for the more complex words, but I have been learning how to put simpler worlds into sentences and hopefully soon I can learn how to put more complex words into sentences. I really hope that I can fulfill my goal to be able to have a fluent conversation with someone who only speaks sign language by the end of May.Friday, January 16, 2015
Progress Report
To continue my 20% Time Project and learning sign language, I have started to learn how to put basic words in to sentences. Like for instant, take how and you, and make the sentence "How are you?". Interesting fact is sign language doesn't have a sign for are. A really helpful and good YouTube video to help you learn more basic words, and be able to put them in sentences is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8WIr61r1Do. I think I have made good time in learning sign language and I have got more fluent than before, but not so close to being fluent enough to talk to someone who only speaks sign language. Hopefully by the end of this school year, I will be able to have a fluent conversation in sign language.Friday, January 9, 2015
Progress Report
To continue my 20% Time project and learning sign language, I have continued to learn more basic words. In my last post, I linked a YouTube video by Bill Vicars, another great video that will help you learn sign language quick is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9cFqNYlV1A. Bill's videos have really helped me learn sign language, because he actually is deaf and uses sign language, and makes it really easy and quick to learn. My difficulty right now doing this 20% Time Project is I don't have anytime to practice and get better at home, but I'm going to try and make time so I can learn quicker and faster, and achieve my goal of speaking fluent sign language, and to be able to talk to someone who only speaks sign language, and have a conversation with them.
